“Israel’s watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they lie around and dream, they love to sleep. They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, each seeks his own gain.” (Isaiah 56:10-11)
“Congratulations Obama.”
These were the words of a supposed man of God. Why? Because Obama happens to be an African American. Now, if you would please excuse me, I would like to say something that would get me in severe trouble if I were a radio talk show host. TD Jakes is using racial profiling to select our next President. And I would also say that he is a racist. Now, why would I accuse T.D. Jakes of being a racist. Well, the evidence speaks for itself. I’m not saying he has anything against other races. I would simply put it this way: “Jakes has bowed down to the god of…skin color.
Jakes is a man that, no doubt, has a gift to preach the Word. Oh, make no mistake, he is a great speaker. He brings them in by the thousands. There is no doubt that he has the gifts. But, I want to warn you beloved; don’t let his anointing deceive you. I am, by no means, accusing him of not being a Christian. But, I am calling him out for worshiping a god other than the God of the Bible. TD Jakes has made it clear that the color of our next President’s skin is more important than his morals. 4,200 Mr. Jakes! That’s how many babies are killed through abortion every single day in this country! 4,200! Mr. Jakes, you need to call Mr. Obama to repentance, you certainly don’t need to praise him!
Mr Jakes, the Bible says “Thou shalt not murder.” How does that become so confusing. I’ll tell you how. When you start to worship a god, such as skin color, you start to forget the word of God. 4,200 innocent children die everyday because shepherds like Mr. Jakes are too worried about being politically correct. The most innocent of all innocent…babies in their mothers’ womb…can you not see? Or are you blind?
Now, if Jakes were to stand on the word of God, would he not come out and say that it makes no difference what the skin color of our next president is; that if he is for the killing of innocent children he has no business leading our country? You would certainly think that a man of God would say something to that affect. But instead you get a quote like this “Tragically, this generation has limited its definition of morality to two issues, same sex marriages and abortion. Morality goes far beyond those two issues. Racism is immoral. I think racial profiling is immoral. I think not providing health care is immoral. To let someone die in a country that is as progressive as ours for the lack of something that is within our power to give them is immoral. It is virtually murder.” Racial profiling is immoral? Well, it most certainly is Mr. Jakes! And you are a big hypocrite! Is it not racial profiling when you lift up a man, known for his violent stance for abortion and same-sex marriage, and praise his presidential nomination? You are praising a murderer!
Mr. Jakes, you mention several things that you find to be vitally important issues. I don’t disagree that some of those things are important. But how could you say that anything is more important than 4,200 babies being slaughtered every day? Oh, what a tragedy if we cannot see the truth…Oh God, open our eyes!
In Christian love,

P.S. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that, because I wrote this, I am at all supporting John McCain.

I agree completely! I am appalled at the blind allegiance that so many black Christians are giving to Obama and the Democratic Party – what deception!
June 20, 2008 at 4:41 am |
I’m guessing that you believe in the legal murder by the State (Capital Punishment). By your logic, that would make you a murderer. Talk about hipocracy! If you’re “pro life” then be pro life. You can’t have it both ways. The number of falsely convicted people that have been executed in this country and later proven innocent is astounding and growing constantly. Where is your outrage at that injustice? So now, everybody is a murderer so the playing field is level. Let’s see… who will I vote for? Someone who is DIFFERENT than what we have now!
June 20, 2008 at 3:53 pm |
I agree with your post – but fundamentally ask you to reconsider and put your support for McCain else you will feed into Obama and the path that this nation is going.
Stop arguing about McCain’s past and realize the pro-life issues and pro-Conservative judges he stands for + right on many other issues.
You better vote McCain this election!

To Joseph’s comment, I don’t know where this particular auther of the site stands, but yes, I agree that capital punishment is innefective and broken systme.
Our criminal justice system is the worst in the world. I’m a big supporter of http://www.innocenceproject.org as you probably are too.
As the auther said – he doesn’t disagree with TD Jakes on many issues, and TD Jakes has had a lot of support(an $$$) from Christians. His endorsement of Obama because he’s BLACK and not because of weighing the issues, is troubling.
I ALSO agree with Obama that we need to revise our criminal justice systme – big time, but I disagree with him on most everything else.

Paul,
I would encourage you to read this article. It might change your mind on McCain. Voting for the lesser of two evils is voting for evil still. http://www.operationsaveamerica.org/175.htm
Now, to answer the comment on capital punishment(a famous red herring to get the subject off of the fact that abortion is murder), we need to go to Scripture. Does the Bible say that capital punishment is the right thing to do? In Genesis 9, we see capital punishment is set up by God. Verse six says “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.” Read it in context and see for yourself guys.
I do have one question, “Why is it that we are so against killing the guilty, yet have no problem killing the innocent?”

“You are praising a murderer!”
You’ve failed to see the flaw in your logic, as exemplified by the above statement. But, why bother pointing this out to someone who attempts to use the bible to back up his/her opinions.
June 21, 2008 at 9:25 pm |
I am happy to see I am not the only person who sees the obvious racism surrounding the election. If someone was openly trying to rally the white vote it would be all over news how this white person is racist but is so easily overlooked when it isn’t a white person. That is our current position, racism is wrong if you are white and okay if you are not. I wish we could get past that and view people for who they are like we say we do.
And Melissa says, “why bother pointing this out to someone who attempts to use the Bible to back up his/her opinions”
Well Melissa, you have a point, why bother? The fact is that you have two opposing worldviews and you will not make any progress pointing out your view to someone with an opposing one… If there is no God then abortion is fine, homosexuality is fine, and even murder would be fine because there would be nobody above ourselves to answer to. Everything would be completely meaningless and therefore nothing would matter in the least.
And this whole capital punishment argument is bogus. The Bible may say “thou shalt not kill” in our English translation but check it out in the language it was written in. A better translation is thou shalt not murder. Killing and Murdering are different. Capital punishment PROTECTS life. Abortion is murdering an innocent while capital punishment is killing the guilty.
The real issue is actually whether God is there or not. He is… I can post that in full confidence. If we mearly evolved then abortion would be fine, but I can say with certanty that we did not evolve from nothing. It all is a matter of faith.

So, in theory, if we support the sin of others we are also guilty of the same sin? By this logic we are all supporters of some type of sin. If I support a candidate who is pro-death penalty and then puts the person to death in which we later find out the man was innocent does that make all of his supporters guilty of murder? Or if we support the war in Iraq with both word and dead (taxes) are we guilty of murder for the innocents that are lost in the conflict as well? And if the bible does justify capital punishment is it ok then for us to say go ahead and do it? I mean, the bible also says if you curse your father or mother you should be put to death and if you have a slave, you can be beat them and let them lay there for 2 days before you are guilty of any wrong doing. If your going to be so zealous about defending the life the unborn why not advocate for thins like, no capital punishment, free health care and delivery for pregnant women and also for the fair treatment of aliens in this country, after all the bible says to treat them as one of our own.
Also, what if Mr. Jakes does support Obama for more than just the color of his skin? Remember, to you abortion may be the only issue, but others look at the entire picture. If rome is burning but there are no abortions does that make everything ok?

It is a shame that so many come up with these “red herrings” to try to get the subject off of the killing of innocent babies. Stan, there is absolutely no way you can “overlook” the fact that Obama is vehemently for abortion. He is, by far, the most radical pro-abortion, pro-homosexual presidential candidate we have ever seen.
You have no idea what the “entire picture” is, because it has to do with the judgment of Almighty God. You see, we deserve Obama for our next president. And let me go as far as this, the church is most responsible for the state that this nation is in. This nation was once a godly nation, founded on the Word of God. But, we have allowed the Bible to be kicked out of our public schools, we have allowed the killing of innocent children, we have allowed homosexuals to parade their sin like Sodom up and down the streets, and the fact is we have made one compromise after another. The church needs to repent. Then, and only then, will this nation turn from her wickedness.
For all of you that like to throw capital punishment into the mix; why don’t you look into Obama’s stance on capital punishment? Did you know that he thinks that anyone who rapes a child, under the age of twelve, should get executed? So, what does that tell you about your hypocritical candidate? Simple, he puts an age number on the value of human life. He says that a child, from birth until age twelve, is more valuable than a baby in his or her mothers’ womb or a person over the age of twelve. How does that work? Do you not know that God values every life, regardless of age?
Let me take a stab at something, Stan; you don’t study the Bible do you? And I seriously doubt that you have ever read it from cover to cover. You merely repeat the ignorance of others(what you are saying is nothing new). If you studied the bible you would discover that there are certain laws that have been done away with since the new covenant, and certain laws that are still in effect. You might say that the Bible contradicts itself, much like Obama does. Yet, you are in error. You need to, first of all, confess that you are wrong and God Almighty is right. Then, you need to repent of your attack against Christ. The Bible is the infallable, inspired, inerrant Word of God. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,”(2 Timothy 3:16)
Stan, I’m gonna pray for you; that God will soften your heart to understand the Truth. You have the same spirit that nailed Jesus to the cross. Did you hear that? Isaiah 53:6 says “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Jesus bore your iniquities, on His back, as he was nailed to that old rugged cross. Do you not know that when you stand before the Lord of hosts, on the day of Judgment, you will have to give account for all of your sins. It’s appointed once that every man dies, and after that is the Judgment. If you have lied once, you are a liar. If you’ve stolen one thing, you are a thief. Jesus said that if you even look at a woman to lust for her, you have committed adultery with her in your heart. We’ve all done that one too. Have you ever, even once, taken the name of the Lord in vain. Look at yourself in the mirror of God’s perfect law. You will see a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. Do you think that God will say innocent or guilty on that horrible day of judgment? He will say guilty and that means Hell. Stan, that’s why Jesus died on the cross; because there is nothing you can do to atone for your sin. Stan, please repent(turn from your sin) today and put your trust in Christ. Start reading your Bible daily and obeying what you read. I truly am concerned about your eternity Stan.

I appreciate the fact you are concerned over the condition of my soul. I also wanted to point out, however, I did not say the bible contraindicated itself, I was making a point about picking a choosing which lives are acceptable to loose and which ones aren’t and that the old testament is taken and used over and over when we want to apply it and we discard it when its not. Capital punishment, war and parks of our nations welfare system could all be used in different ways when we look at the bible. Think about it, if Jesus says turn another cheek, he Jesus says, forgive these people because they don’t know what they are doing and to pray for those who curse you, you can make an argument against capital punishment , but if you look at the old testament you can totally justify it. This can be carried over with other things such as tithing, in the old testament they gave a 10th of their increase ever year, in the new testament there is no mention of it, yet every week Christians are told to tithe on their income not their increase. My personal stance no matter what obama’s is nor anyone else’s is that murder is murder and its wrong no matter if its an infant, a solider or a criminal. If Obama wants to put to death a rapist then he will if thats what he wants to do, I am still going to vote for him because I am not going to vote for a single issue. You see, if Christians allowed this nation to become a sinful nation and that we have to repent before this nation turns from her wickedness thats what the church has to do. You don’t repent with a vote, you don’t make people Christians by enacting laws and you don’t stop abortions by voting for Republicans. Abortion is a great vote grabber for them and they will use that until there is no more. They had how many years to create a constitutional amendment to go around roe v wade? Instead of voting for a guy who says he holds one of your values like anti-abortion, vote for a guy because he says and goes further and more issues. I don’t like abortion but will I vote for one person because they say they are against it? No, not a chance. They will say they will put a judge on the supreme court, so if they do they will never get abortion to go before it and if they do it will never pass because its such an old law now it falls under starry decisis, while in the mean time these conservatives will continue to bust unions, keep low wages down and try to privatize Medicare and social security. Just today, in fact, the republicans were filibustering a vote that would have strengthened social security for our seniors. If you want to end abortions, adopt pregnant teens, pay for poor women who are caring a baby, pay their delivery cost, help with the legal way for adoption…these things go further than a vote against abortion, but those things i mentioned are socialist and would never go down and your average person who hates abortion will never do anything but protest and make the mothers feel bad about themselves.
July 10, 2008 at 10:35 am |
You made some good points, Stan. It seems, however, that you believe me to back John McCain and the Republican Party. That’s not the case friend. Come this November, I will not cast my vote for any party. I will cast my vote for Jesus. And Jesus is not in McCain or Obama. I’ll probably write in Alan Keyes. I’ll catch some heat for this from alot of Christians, who are actually Republicans before they are Christians, but it’s the right thing to do.
You know Stan, I could point out to you, where you are wrong in your theology, but I don’t believe that you will accept it. You have made up your mind about Obama. Good for you. But, if you cast your vote for him, you are sinning against God. I will no longer reason with you about your eisegetical interpretations. It’s obvious that you are blind to the truth of God’s Word and the veil will not be lifted until the Law of God convicts your heart and you repent.
I will say this though, you have used several arguments of a typical pro-abort. Oh, you might say you aren’t for abortion, but you are. One of your arguments is that I should help women, financially, with bringing their baby to term. I do lead women to doctors that will help them for free and lead them to Christian adoption agencies.
And one last thing, mothers that murder their babies should feel bad about it. They are tormented by the guilt of murder, therefore becoming fugitives until death. They can take this torment to hell with them, or they can die to themselves, repent of their sins and be forgiven. If they repent, and trust in Christ, their sins will be washed away and times of refreshing will come with the presence of the Lord.
Stan, your heart is hard to the gospel. It is foolishness to you, so I must tell you that if you do not repent, you will perish. Repent today, Stan.

First, of I just want to point out I am a Christian, even if i do not share you views. I don’t see any part of where I have written that has pointed that out otherwise. What I get upset about is when people equate voting for a candidate to sinning. If I support a candidate who gets elected as president but can never do anything about is elected how is that a sin? Obama gets elected, a girl gets impregnated and gets an abortion and then I am sinning? How? You see, just because abortion is legal doesn’t mean people have to get it. I said I am against abortion and I am. If you teach your children whats right and whats wrong they will do that, right? The bible after all says if you teach a child the right way when they get older they wont depart from their beliefs. So as long as abortion is legal it doesn’t have to happen. What law has ever prevented illegal activities? We have tons of laws against drugs, yet they are everywhere. I will never have to worry about myself using drugs or anyone I have influence over because you instill values on a personal level not on a federal level. One other thing, How is it that in my wittings you point out I am not a Christian, I am hard to the word of God, that I have never read it and that I am for abortion. If I and others raise our children and teach them its wrong, abortion will come to an end not through legislation. People are hard to gospel because people are so quick to point out other peoples wrongs and to judge them. How is it you can end your letter ” In Christian love” after you have just told another Christian that the gospel is foolish to me and that my heart is hard to it? I read it and I see one thing and I see the world in another, yet I am still Christian. Its so typical of how most Christians are, you have to be like me, read the bible like me and focus on the issues important to me. The pherases condemned john when he was not eating or drinking, yet when jesus came eating and drinking they condemned him too. Two people doing two different things both serving the same God. You see, I choose not to vote solely on abortion because if Christians did their job it would stop without legislation just like drug use and anything else. When I vote I vote with the idea of who is going to expand social programs, who is going to send more aid to an impoverished world. It comes our world views and how we interpret the bible. I read it and I see Jesus saying give with a cheerful heart and not out of a tithing law, I see him saying feed the hungry, comfort the widow, strive to be a peace maker and pray for those use you. Thats were real change comes, not through some stupid political process where politicians use issues like abortion to turn a vote out for their own political gain. Jesus stayed away from politics, yet he lived in a very oppressive time and still managed to change the world without trying to overthrow caeser. So this November I am going to walk into a both cast my vote for Obama and thats it. Between now and then I am not going to get caught up in politics and afterwards I wont either. God transcends politics and I will be hardly held accountable for my vote just as people who live under repressive regimes will not be held accountable for not overthrowing their government. Politics has become way to meshed with religion in this country.
July 10, 2008 at 11:57 pm |
The “Christian love” you speak of is no love at all. Let me ask you something Stan. You discipline your children, right? You might even tell them when they are doing something wrong? Does that make you judgmental and mean? Absolutely not. That is love. Leviticus 19:17 says, “Thou shalt not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke him and not bear sin because of him.” Jesus loved the woman at the well when he confronted her for her sin. Nathan loved King David when he confronted him with his sin. The list goes on and on. True love confronts sin. True love often times feels like hate to the one being confronted.
The world says that we Christians shouldn’t judge. Where do they get that from? Oh yeah, they mangle the Scriptures to come to that ridiculous conclusion. We are called to get the speck out of our neighbors’ eye, as long as we first get the log out of our own eye.
Stan, I can easily say that you are sinning when you cast your vote for Obama because he is radically pro-abortion. You might not know this, but God is incredibly angry at America because we slaughter over 1 million babies a year. God is going to judge us for this horrible sin. He is judging us. If you disagree, just read Dt. 28. He is slowly draining the wealth of America and giving it to our enemies.
I’ll end with this. Stan, examine yourself in light of Scripture. There will be many that come to Jesus and call Him Lord, yet He will tell them to depart from Him.
Your vote is the currency of your virtue.

Adam, I totally agree with everything you have said. This country has fallen to the current condition it is in because of people, “Christians” as Stan. I will also say that not voting for McCain will have the same affect as what I have heard said as the “Ross Perot affect”. When Clinton wound up in the oval office.
July 18, 2008 at 1:29 am |
Very good comments! I want to remind everyone that this is not the first time TD Jakes has supported a pro-abort presidential candidate. I was standing outside his church during the Gore/Bush election when he had Al Gore take the pulpit, who at that time was the most pro-abort / pro-homosexual agenda candidate and vice-president at the time.
Let me also remind you that TD Jakes does not preach/teach true Christian doctrine regarding the Trinity. He teaches modalism and comes from a Oneness Pentacostal background. Although he has great gifts in speaking and gathering a large audience, he’s about an inch deep and a mile wide in true substance! Hence, his supporting another presidiential candidate like Obama is not surprising.

ADAM THIS ONE IS SOOOOO GOOD. I have to totally agree with your article!!!! Though I haven’t had a chance to read your comments yet. This is totally correct and I will be the first to say that a lot of people played the race card….its just plain ridiculous. As an African American woman I refused to believe that I had to vote/agree with Obama b/c he’s black….b/c just like you point out…I am first and foremost a believer, saint of God and and disciple of Christ and there is just no way that I could cast my vote for a murder and a supporter of homosexuality. But now that Obama is our president…we must continue to pray for Him and that God will open the eyes of every person in the United States. 1 Timothy 2:2 1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. So let us pray hard for this man…our newly elected president that the eyes of all believers would be open to intercede for Obama, our newly elected president….even though we would have wanted God to select someone else…we must believe that His will would be done on this Earth!!! Thanks for the blog Adam….it was great. Keep seeking after God and preaching the unadulterated Gospel for Christ’s sake!!!!!!
December 23, 2008 at 3:38 pm |
In addition, In the coming days…there will be a great shaking of “large ministries” that will crumble before our very eyes b/c they will continue to compromise in the Word of God. We have already seen this before. God wants those who gives Him their whole heart….and as we can see from this previous election…all ministers aren’t doing that!!!! We need true worshipers and believers to stand up for God!!!!!
February 2, 2009 at 2:23 am |
WOWWW this is very true. I can see where the black christians have fallen itno the racial part of this. we have pastors who when Bill Clinton sighned the don’ ask don’t tell law. were in an uprage saying that Clinton was opening the door for gays and taking this country away from God.Now i see some of the same “black” pastors standing with Obama ,when Obama is admitidly approving of same sex unions, and will more then likley make the thing LAW. Obama has also
proven that he has no stand aganst this life style.
I think what has happened is that black pastors are afraid of the “black “powers that be. If they reject Obama they will be thought of as not black enough or not supporting their own. But as a black man ,a minister of the music ministry .I seen to have read in the Word of God that our Inhertance is amoung those who are the sanctified of God. So as i tell everyone Obama’s election is not the direct will of God. but i belive firmly it is the “premisive will” he was permited by God to win that the prophecey of the Word might be and come forth.I told some chrisitan freinds and i belive it is a true statement for a large number of black christians. “If the antichrist is black ,then some black christians are not gonns be save, cause they will support him simply because he is Black!!!!! very frightning
