“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” (Romans 1:16)
Hello beloved,
I was thinking about something tonight. When I told my family and friends about how Jesus saved me from my sin, there was one statement I kept hearing over and over, “I’m glad you found something that worked for you.”
You know, that’s a very popular response these days, when you’ve told someone about Christ. It’s as if they don’t want to hurt your feelings. It’s as if they feel sorry for you because you have lowered yourself to believe in a God that loves mankind so much that He died for them.
Well, I’ve got news for you. This “thing” that has worked so well for me, worked for fifty-four of the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence. The next time someone tells me that they are happy I found something that worked for me, I’ll ask them if they realize that the ground they are standing on was set apart for a people whose one goal was to shine the Light of the Gospel to a lost and dying world. I’ll let them know that they live in a free country because our founders lifted up Jesus Christ and founded this country on the Word of God. And the only reason this, once godly nation, is losing her freedom is because we have forsaken the very God who gave us life. And, now, athiest’s are robbing us of our freedoms.
It’s as if these people don’t even care that Jesus Christ was nailed to a cross so we could be set free from our sin.
