“HEAR, O MY PEOPLE, AND I WILL WARN YOU”

September 14, 2010

On September 11, 2001, God spoke to the United States of America.  Not only did He have a message for “We the people;” but His message was directed first and foremost, to His people, “We the church.” Though there were many who said that God had nothing to do with this, Pastor David Wilkerson, of Times Square Church, hit the nail on the head.  The title of his sermon on the Sunday following 9/11 was entitled, “The Towers Have Fallen, but We Missed the Message.” His main text came from Isaiah chapter nine.  I believe it would be wise if you listened to this message at http://media.sermonindex.net/4/SID4014.mp3

It might seem to be a coincidence that Pastor Wilkerson used the same text that Senator Tom Daschle used to try to bring comfort to the American people.  Well, it was no coincidence.  God was speaking to us.  The difference was, Wilkerson was speaking on behalf of God.  Daschle was ripping God’s Word out of context.

Another man that God was speaking clearly to was Rev. Flip Benham.  He preached a very important message which will help you to connect the dots; specifically what God was saying through St. Paul’s Chapel and our governmental leaders.  Rev. Flip Benham’s Sermon

I was very blessed to be able to hear both of these messages before going to New York City this past weekend.  Of course, I wasn’t the only one there.  Thousands gathered on the ninth anniversary of 9/11.  Many were there to stand in support of the mosque.  Many more were there to stand in opposition to the mosque.  However, our mission was two fold.  First of all, we were there to stand in solidarity with those who mourned for lost loved ones and saw this mosque as a slap in the face to those who were killed on 9/11.  But, our second purpose was to answer the question, “Why Islam?” I will explain that later.

After hearing Flip’s message on Isaiah chapter nine, my first stop in New York City had to be St. Paul’s Chapel.  And, the first thing that drew my attention, as I walked in the doors, was the giant Bible laying open on the pulpit.  I had the strongest curiosity to know what Scripture this Bible was opened to, and was blown away at the first verse that I laid my eyes on.  Psalm 81:8 says, “Hear, O my people, and I will warn you-if you would but listen to me, O Israel!” As you listen to the attached sermons, and finish reading this article, you will see why this verse was so prophetic to what we were doing in New York City.  And you will be even more astonished if you read the eight verses that follow this one.

I thought, “Of all the verses in the Bible, there could not be a better one to explain why God had sent us to New York City.” And not only that, but as I finished reading Psalm 81, I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had made sure that that Bible was open to that exact page for a reason.  He left that Bible open for all that had ears to hear, to hear what God is saying to this nation.  His message has always been plain.  It’s right there for all to hear it.  The question is, “Will we listen?” Sadly, the entire time I was in the chapel, I did not see a single person even look at the Bible, let alone read it.  That was just a sad reminder to me of how little reverence there is for God’s Word in this nation.  And it was also a sad reminder that all God has been saying through that little church has largely been unheard.

From St. Paul’s Chapel, I walked down to where we were setting up at the corner of Church and Murray; about two blocks from Ground Zero.  It might not seem the ideal place until you realize that we were set up right in the middle of the two opposing rallies.  It was incredible.  Thousands of people had to walk by us to get where they wanted to go.

At noon, Rusty Thomas, Ante Pavkovic and David Benham preached the Word of God for almost an hour to media from all over the world.  This was our “press conference.”  Rusty answered the question, “Why Islam?” He explained that the root of our problem is the shedding of innocent blood, through abortion and parading the sin of homosexuality through our streets, as they did in Sodom.  He said that those were the roots of our problem and Islam is the fruit which we have produced.  He explained that Islam is the rod which God is using to chasten His people for turning our backs on Him.

The press conference ended at a little before 1pm.  At around 1:15pm, we cranked up the sound and called them in.  Our call came from 1 Kings 18:30; “Come near unto me.” When all of Israel, who were wavering between two opinions, had gathered together, God said to the people, through the prophet Elijah, “Come near unto me.” God wants so badly to be able to pour out his mercy on His people.  He still wants to do this today.  God has a message for us.  The question is, “Will we hear it?”

Rusty again proclaimed the truth of why Islam was attacking this Land.  After declaring what our two-fold message was, Rusty gave the call to unveil our prophetic message to all that would hear; baby Malachi.

Malachi means, “My messenger.” And, though Malachi has been dead for years, his message is as loud and clear as ever.  And not only was his message clear on this day, but it was seen and heard by the whole world.  There was a window of around ten to fifteen minutes where the sidewalks were packed, the media was all over and the only sound you heard was the preaching of God’s Word, ringing throughout the city of New York.  God’s message was going out.  The question is, “Was anyone listening?”

Here are links to the messages preached by Rusty, Ante and David.

Rusty Thomas’ Message

Ante Pavkovic’s Message

David Benham’s Message

Did you notice the reaction of one woman when she saw the pictures of Malachi?  Her exact words were, “This isn’t what you were preaching about!”  When I heard those words it broke my heart.  You know why?  Because, that’s how this nation views abortion.  When she saw little Malachi, she saw a dead baby.  But, to her, that’s obviously not what abortion is.  My prayer is that she cannot get the picture of little baby Malachi out of her head until she confesses that abortion is murder.

So, the nation was warned.  But were we listening?

This was not the first time God had warned us with this message; as you have heard if you listened to Flip’s message.  And, unfortunately, I believe the result will be the same.  Though many heard the message, it seemed that no one was cut to the heart.  No one was willing to hear it.  And, what really breaks my heart is knowing what everyone one of us knew going into this: this is the last warning God is going to give us.  If we don’t hear this one, this nation is doomed.

So, needless to say, I didn’t feel too great as I left that rally.  I saw the reaction of the people.  And I knew that judgment was soon to come on this nation; the likes of which we have never seen.  I think I felt the pain Isaiah might have felt when he asked the Lord how long he would have to preach this message of judgment to a people who would not hear it.  God’s answer was, “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the files ruined and ravaged, until the LORD has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken.” O God, may we find mercy in your judgment!

Then there was Sunday morning.  Praise God for Sunday morning!  Some of us went to visit Times Square Church.  Pastor Wilkerson was not there, but Pastor Carter Conlon was.  And, there is not the slightest doubt in my mind that God spoke directly through him.  It was very encouraging.

Not only was his message encouraging, but the joy in the hearts of all the people was something that I truly cherished.  I could clearly see that it was not a hyped up joy.  It was the real thing.

As Pastor Conlon came to the pulpit, he commented on the very thing I had been thinking.  He said that this joy you have experienced comes from not rejecting the truth, but from standing in the Holy place of God.  And that was the title of his message, “Standing in the Holy Place.”

It was great.  He started in Jude 1-4 and 11.  Then he went to Isaiah 2:6-4:1, explaining what it looks like when the full force of God’s judgment comes upon a nation that has forsaken Him.  He was speaking on behalf of God!  The final message had been delivered on Saturday.  If we do not listen, this is the judgment that will soon come upon us.  And Pastor Carter was declaring as well as any of us ever had.  Praise the Lord!

But, then again, it’s judgment.  Where is the joy in that?  Pastor Carter answered that question for us.  As he read Isaiah 4:2-6, he showed us that our only hope is standing in the Holy place of God.  Despite all of the calamities around us, we must remain faithful to God and His Word.  If we do, God will be our “shelter and shade…and a refuge and hiding place…” Praise the Lord!

Judgment is coming.  God is going to completely lift his hand of protection on this nation.  But we have a choice.  We can wring our hands and trust in ourselves, and fall.  Or, we can remain faithful and obedient, and God will see us through.  That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy.  But God will be our refuge.  Amen!

I realize that there is a lot of information in this article.  But, I strongly recommend that you read and watch everything here.  Most importantly, I would ask you to read the Scriptures that were referenced throughout this article and all of the sermons.  Your future and hope just might rely on it.

For His Glory,

Adam Tennant

After I finished this article I heard some more amazing news.  I just got off the phone with Rusty Thomas.  Apparently, at the church he visited Sunday, the Pastor’s main text was 1 Kings 17 and 18.  His message backed up everything we had done.  Amazing!

MY RESPONSE TO JIM GARLOW’S DEFENSE OF STANDING WITH GLENN BECK

September 3, 2010

This morning, I read Jim Garlow’s article, giving his reasons as to why it was acceptable to stand with Glenn Beck.  Here’s my response.

Let me first state that I am not out to “de-Christianize” Jim Garlow.  He is a godly man.  I have learned much from him, and I highly respect him.  However, I believe that he is wrong on this issue.

On making alliances, he said that he got a statement from the LDS officials saying that they would not talk about Mormon theology.  Glenn Beck has twice, that I know of, given a false account of American history in order to spread his Mormon theology.  Therefore, holding to the premise Garlow created here, I don’t think his comparison is valid.

I think another major difference is that this gathering on the 28th was promoted as a spiritual thing, not a political thing.  That is clearly different than uniting together for Prop. 8.  Personally, I don’t think it’s right to lock arms with him politically either, though.  Not if you research the theology of Mormonism.

I would even go as far as to say that God would never have us make any sort of alliance with non-believers.  We are not to be unequally yoked (2 Cor. 6:14).  Dr. Garlow stated that “In the Old Testament, there were times that Israel forged alliances out of desperation because they did not trust God.  That distrust is sin.  In addition, Israel compromised herself in those alliances, becoming like those with whom she joined.  However, there were other scenarios in which God used cultures outside Israel for his purposes.  Those alliances seemed to have the approval of God.” I completely agree with him that Israel sinned when they forged alliances out of desperation rather than trusting in God.  God hates that.  All you have to do, to figure that out is read the Bible.  God wants us to trust in Him alone.

However, when Garlow goes on o say that there were some alliances that seemed to have the approval of God, I would have to disagree.  I would like to challenge him to give me an example of this.  I would like to challenge anyone to give me an example of this.  I sure haven’t found any.

Dr. Garlow seems to be saying that he believes Beck is a Christian based on him using some terms like atonement.  “Few people use the term atonement.”  Really?  Well Mormons use that term quite a bit.  However, it carries an entirely different meaning.

In order to imply that Beck might be a Christian, Garlow uses the fact that Glenn laid out the Gospel on his show.  This is true.  But he also had to check with Richard Land to make sure he got it right.  If he, himself, had received this particular presentation as truth, should he not have clearly said that this is what saved him?  I would if I was in his shoes.  And I don’t know of any Christian that wouldn’t.  The problem with this, in my opinion, is that this seems to gain him credibility with Christians.  It blurs the line between Mormonism and Christianity.  It seems to have worked, unfortunately.

Garlow quoted someone saying that “there is no ambiguity about Glenn’s faith.”  Really?  Than how do you explain the things he has been teaching about Mormonism recently?  How do you explain the fact that on Chris Wallace’s Fox News show, on Monday morning (it was recorded on Saturday 8/28 and aired Monday 8/30), he said, “and look, I’m a Mormon, and most Christians don’t recognize me as a Christian… You’re right Jim, there is no ambiguity.  Glenn Beck is clearly a Mormon.

Here is a link to this particular interview, so you can hear what he said in context: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ytClkN2tYY&feature=player_embedded

Garlow then goes on to dismiss the fact that Glenn was pushing Mormonism when talking about the Bat Creek Stone.  He said he has talked to people “in the know.”  Really?  How about doing some historical research?  Talk to Ed Decker.  If anyone is “in the know,” he is.  He used to be a Mormon and teach Mormon theology.  He has come out to say that Glenn is clearly pushing LDS teachings.  Better yet, just research the Bat Creek Stone yourself.  It’s easy to see that he was pushing Mormon teachings.

And, not only did he teach this on August 19th, but he also started his rally by mentioning that the Native Americans and Pilgrims were God’s chosen people.  This is part of that false Mormon teaching.

Now, on to Garlow stating that none of our theology is 100% accurate.  I don’t disagree with him on that statement alone.  However, there are certain core doctrines of Christianity that we cannot “agree to disagree” on.  The Jesus of the Bible is one of them.  Jesus is not the brother of Lucifer, as Mormons say.  Remember, the Jesus of the cults is not the Jesus of the Bible.  That is a piece of our theology that must be correct.  We cannot agree to disagree with cultists.  Period.

What happened at the Restoring Honor rally was very dangerous.  The fruit of it has only showed me that my presuppositions were accurate.  I keep hearing Christians say that they don’t care whether Glenn is a Mormon or not.  He is leading us back to our founders.  I have a question for you.  Is it more important that we turn back to our founders and their documents, than it is to rightly represent the God of the Bible?  Glenn Beck says that our founding documents are equal to Scripture.  Mormon theology teaches that our Founders were spirit babies, sent by the Mormon God to write these documents.  Did you know that?  Look, we cannot lock arms with Glenn Beck.

I wish Jim Garlow, James Robison and David Barton would stop trying to defend themselves and examine what is really going on.  I really do love these guys, but they are in error.  I heard Erwin Lutzer say that anyone who takes part in this rally is taking part in heresy.  I have to agree.  Now, that does not make them heretics.  That does not make them nonbelievers.  But I believe that they are in error.

Unfortunately, by the time the church sees the bad fruit from all of this, it will be too late.  Too many will have fallen too far into the deception.  But that’s what all this is.  Deception.  It’s just part of the powerful delusion that 2 Thessalonians 2:11 is talking about.

Church, it’s time that we get back to Scripture.  We need to turn back to God.  Not the god of Mormonism, or the god of Islam, or the god in the tree.  No, we need to turn back to the Holy One of Israel, the God of the Bible.

We need not judge our leaders by their political fruit, but by their doctrinal fruit.  In these last days, we need to be very careful of who we stand with.  I will end with Matthew 7:15-20:

“Watch out for false prophets.  They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.  By their fruit you will recognize them.  Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?  Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”

I am not saying that Garlow, Robison and Barton are false prophets.  But, I am definitely saying that I believe Glenn Beck to be one.  We ought not to judge him only by his political fruit.  We need to judge him by what he believes.

For His Glory,

Adam Tennant

GLENN BECK: RESTORING HONOR? OR PROMOTING IDOLATRY?

September 2, 2010

Image via Foxnews.com

Last weekend, something huge took place in Washington D.C.  Of course, I am referring to the “Restoring Honor” rally that Glenn Beck organized.  As Christians, it is extremely important that we evaluate what took place and examine the Scriptures to see what our stance should be.  We will do that in this article.

Before we get to the rally, let’s briefly go over some of what Glenn has been up to recently.  I have heard, from several Christians, that Glenn has had a “spiritual enlightenment.”  Well, I don’t doubt that, but we need to discern which spirit is enlightening him.  Let’s go back a couple of weeks to see if we can figure that out.

If you watched his show on August 19th, you might have thought it was kind of strange when Glenn started talking about the Native Americans and some Hebrew inscription on the Bat Creek Stone.  If you do your research, you will find that the Mormon Church teaches that Native Americans are descendants of the lost tribe of Israel.  There is a lot more to it, but all you need to know is that this is a false teaching of the Mormon Church that Glenn was promoting.  Does that give you any clue as to what spirit might be enlightening him?

The dangerous part about this is not that he is pushing his Mormon beliefs on his audience.  The dangerous part is that he is mingling it with names like William Penn and George Washington.  Keep in mind, Glenn has had David Barton on his show numerous times, teaching true history.  So, now his audience is set up to believe the history that Glenn is teaching is true history.  Very dangerous.

So, on August 28, 2010, Glen united half a million people of all faiths to his “Restoring Honor” rally, for the purpose of turning their hearts to “one god.”  This is a good thing, right?  David Barton is calling it a sign of revival.  Shouldn’t we rejoice with Beck and lock arms with him and fight for this great nation?

Well, I think the first question that any Christian should ask about this event would be, “Glenn, what god are we talking about, here?”  After all, he is not vague about the fact that he is a Mormon.  Is it the Mormon god that we are coming to pray to?

When Glenn was promoting this event he boasted that he would have leaders from many faiths speaking, and went on to say, “This weekend is a God event, not a Christian event.”  Hey church, is that enough for you to raise some red flags?  Again, “Glen, what god are we talking about, here?”

I wish I could give everything to you in this one article, but I want to make sure this is an easy read.  So, let’s get to the point.  As a Christian, what should your stand be?  Should you unite with Glenn, for the sake of the flag? or should you loudly proclaim that what is taking place is an abomination?  I know that’s a harsh word, but I also know how God views idolatry.  Oh, and idolatry is exactly what took place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28th.  Isn’t that what God calls it when we worship or pray to false gods?  Yes, it is.  God hates idolatry.  But, let’s not go by my word.  Let’s see what God’s Word has to say about this.

You might say, “Well, isn’t it a good thing that everyone is so interested in spiritual things?  Isn’t it a good thing that Glenn is turning the nation back to our founders?  Isn’t it a good thing to come together and pray?  Hey, David Barton is even calling this a revival.  If anyone knows revival, surely he does.”

Read Isaiah 1:10-15.  After dealing with the sin of the nation of Judah, Isaiah busted them.  Instead of dealing with their sin, they were offering sacrifices and lifting their hands in prayer.  God hates that.  Verse fifteen says, “When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen.  Your hands are full of blood.”

Question.  Are our hands not full of blood?  Since Roe V. Wade over fifty million children have been slaughtered.  I wasn’t at the event.  But I did hear that Dr. Alveda King referred to abortion in her speech.  That’s great.  But is this a revival because abortion was mentioned?  Hmmm…in a revival are sins “referred to” or “repented of?”  If you are going to convince me that this was a revival, you will at least need to show me that the “Christians” there were on their face, crying out to God to forgive them for their guilt(apathy) in the shedding of innocent blood.

I do know one thing.  Of all the accounts I have heard, I have never heard the word “repentance” once.  And yet we want to call this a spiritual revival.  Even if sin and repentance were mentioned, what god would they turn to for forgiveness?

If that’s not enough, why don’t you read Ezekiel chapters eight and nine to see what God thinks of prostrating his Truth with the lies of false religions.

Here’s my point in all of this.  Is Glenn Beck a Mormon?  Yes.  But, should that be our main concern?  No.  Our main concern should be the fact that we had several prominent Christian leaders stand with him, offering legitimacy to all that Glenn believes.  Not only that, but they also offered legitimacy to all of the other religions represented at this event.

Whether you saw it or not, what took place on August 28th was huge.  The truth of Christianity was knocked even lower in order to advance the god of conservatism.

In closing, I want to light a fire in all of you to get out and speak the truth about these things.  Do your research and talk to everyone you know; warning them of Glenn Beck.  Trust me, I would be very careful putting your trust in anything he teaches.  And that includes what he might try to tell you about true American history.  Just be careful.  You can trust Barton on American history.  But Glenn is showing us that he is very confused.  So don’t trust his teachings.  Not until he openly repents of his Mormon beliefs.

For more information on all of this, I highly recommend that you go to www.worldviewweekend.com.  Brannon Howse has done extensive research on what Glenn has been up to.  I encourage you to read his articles and listen to his archives.  Brannon is hitting the nail right square on the head.  I would also encourage you to pray for Brannon.  He was the first to really come out and take a stand on what Glenn has been doing and he is under tremendous fire.

There is so much more to all of this, so please do some research and see if what I have said is true.  The last thing I am out to do is blast you if you have been in support of Beck.  The deception has been well-cloaked.  But now that you know, you can repent.  And, praise God, repentance changes everything!

For His Glory,

Adam Tennant
